The Garden on Grand offers healthy, inspired food without compromising on taste and texture. Everything is made from scratch, either in-house or from quality purveyors with no additives or preservatives. Non-GMO and organic ingredients are used as often as possible, as well as grass-fed beef and free range antibiotic-free poultry. The menu is well diverse to vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free preferences, as well to those with food allergies.

KORE WILBERT

EXECUTIVE CHEF

Kore Wilbert began collaborating with Cevin in 2014 after they realized they shared similar tastes, expectations and visions for where they could take food in St. Louis. The restaurant opened in September, 2016.

On September 18, 2016, Kore won the 2016 Stella Artois Chef Battle Royale at the Taste of St. Louis on behalf of The Garden on Grand. Kore also won the Chef Battle Royale two consecutive years as Sous Chef under Executive Chef Chris Lee at the River City Casino.

His previous experience includes working as the Executive Sous Chef at DePaul Hospital where he was responsible for delivering over 2,500 meals on a daily basis. Prior to that, he worked under the leadership of Executive Chef Vito Racanelli at the former Mad Tomato in Clayton.

Kore spent five weeks as an apprentice at Villa Romana in Minori, Italy, working under Executive Chef Giuliano Donatantonio. He worked daily with the fishermen from the town and developed a love for Italian cuisine, perfecting his technique for making risotto and hand-made pizza and learning the art of wine pairing.

Kore's inspiration comes from cooking with his mother and grandmother from a very young age and pioneering culinary concepts such as Alinea in Chicago.

Kore received his Associates Degree in Culinary Science and Certified Culinarian (CC) designation from L’Ecole Culinaire.
